Learn about the Project Teams

Food Wars
Three students from Kolej Yayasan UEM were involved in composting uncooked food waste generated in their college’s kitchen and dining hall. They worked to produce organic fertilisers from this waste.

Jejak Warisan Kampung Losong
The team initiated a series of interviews with Kampung Losong, Terengganu residents, aiming to document the effects of climate change and the strategies employed, with a specific emphasis on cultural heritage. The insights and outcomes from these interviews were meticulously gathered and transformed into a booklet, designed to safeguard this invaluable knowledge for future generations.  Notably, these interviews encompassed discussions with skilled woodworkers specialising in traditional wooden house construction and the local fishing community.

Amanjaya Bioblitz
The Amanjaya team embarked on a project aimed at conducting a rapid biodiversity assessment and enhancing survey capacity in a forest reserve at Perak. As a part of this effort, a booklet was meticulously crafted to offer in-depth insights into the forest, serving to enrich the understanding of the Amanjaya team and Tropical Rainforest Living Collection Banun visitors.

Biolestari
Biolestari, as a dedicated team, is committed to tackling the issue of inefficient organic waste management within the Greenwood area of Gombak. Their innovative approach involves the utilisation of the Black Soldier Fly farming method to convert organic waste into valuable organic fertilisers and animal feed. With remarkable success, their project has effectively transformed 250.9kg of waste into 120 kg of usable waste, thus significantly minimising waste and its associated environmental impact.

Environmental Education Teaching & Learning
The team, in collaboration with Dana Impact, has taken a proactive approach to environmental education and conservation. They organised an educational tour within the Setiu Wetlands area, an ecologically significant region. To further their mission, the team also developed an informative guide and a comprehensive training module focused on environmental education materials. Their collective efforts aim to foster a deeper understanding of environmental issues and drive positive change by raising awareness and encouraging active participation in conservation efforts.

Environmental Family Attribute
Three dedicated students from Institut Latihan Perindustrian (ILP), Labuan, embarked on a transformative journey by spearheading a community cleaning project within Perkampungan Atas Air, a village situated on the water. They aimed to secure clean water sources and a pristine surrounding for this unique community. To accomplish their mission, these students rallied volunteers from both ILP and the local community, fostering a collaborative effort that ultimately ensured the project’s success. This initiative embodies their collective determination to bring about positive change and environmental sustainability.

Everlast Green
Three proactive students from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn, Pagoh, have initiated an effort to address the critical issue of waste segregation and mitigate waste accumulation on their campus. Their commitment to promoting a sustainable environment led them to organise a series of talks, workshops, and engaging physical activities aimed at spreading awareness and inspiring positive change.

I-Clim
This team, in collaboration with NGOs, academic institutions, and SMK Kiaramas, has undertaken a transformative endeavour by creating an educational module focused on climate change, renewable energy, and urban farming. Their collective mission is to enhance climate literacy among the students of SMK Kiaramas. This initiative is a testament to the power of partnerships, as it brings together expert speakers for online workshops that empower students to take practical action, from seed planting to solar irrigation systems. This educational endeavour marks a significant step in fostering environmental awareness and sustainability.
