marikitaYELL Ep 2: Educator's Open Dialogue

Environmental Education (EE) helps young learners understand and care for the world they live in. While Malaysia has made notable progress in integrating EE into the education system, many educators still face challenges, from limited resources and training to uncertainty about adapting EE content in their classrooms.

One inspiring example is the “I Love Wetlands” storybook project by Persatuan Tadika Sabah (PTS), developed with support from the YELL Seed Grant. This initiative produced storybooks, activity guides, and teacher resources that introduce preschoolers to the value of wetlands in fun and age-appropriate ways.

The journey of PTS — from idea to classroom impact — highlights how locally developed EE materials can empower teachers and engage students meaningfully.

So, how can we better support educators in bringing environmental learning to life? What can we learn from the experiences of those already leading the way?

In this episode, we sit down with:
Persatuan Tadika Sabah (PTS) — creators of the I Love Wetlands project
and educators from across Malaysia, sharing their experiences, challenges, and aspirations in integrating EE into the classroom.
